History, Art and a New Chapter

Ernest Jules Renoux (1863–1932), born in the Marne Valley, devoted much of his work to landscape and painting in the open air. He lived and painted here, where his historic Atelier still overlooks the garden. His work captured gardens, the streets and everyday life of Paris, and the countryside with a particular sensitivity to light; works by Renoux are now held by the Petit Palais in Paris. Several of his paintings remain at Maison Renoux, creating a living connection between the artist, the house and the landscape that inspired him.

Visit & Book the Atelier

In the Heart of the Champagne Vineyards

The vineyards begin directly behind the house, with many independent Champagne producers nearby. The Marne Valley, Épernay and Reims are within easy reach, along with Château-Thierry, Belleau Wood and the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery.

Disneyland Paris is around 45 minutes by car, while the Jardin du Point du Jour at Verdelot is about 15 minutes away.

Or come home early. Sit in the garden. Open the Champagne. Sometimes the best part of exploring Maison Renoux is coming back to it.

A New Chapter

When Denise and Rob discovered Maison Renoux, they were captivated by its history, its gardens and its sense of tranquillity. Over time, they lovingly renovated and expanded the 17th-century country house, preserving its character while creating the comfort needed for contemporary life.
